About Me

Welcome to CC Road Runs! My name is Courtney Coats and I’m an amateur marathon runner that discovered my passion for the sport a little later in life than some. I’m a three time marathoner with two World Major Marathons under my belt.

Am I an expert in the industry of running? Absolutely not. I’m not the fastest runner, I’m not the coolest runner, I’m not the funniest runner. I’m a runner who has a deep love for this sport and am here to keep it real with you about my experience and journey.

My goal is to spread a positive message within the running community and be authentic when it comes to sharing what my life on the run has taught me.

I find myself here today, not as a finished product, but a continued work in progress. I didn't know what I was doing when I started this marathon running journey, and man have I learned a lot along the way thanks to friends, my coach and a lot of trial and error. I can't wait to share in all of my past experiences of life on the run and those to come! 

 

When I’m not running (or talking about running), I’m working as an experiential graphic designer at an Architectural Firm downtown Chicago. While I grew up in the suburbs of Indianapolis, I always had the dream of moving to the city of Chicago and have been living here with my husband for 7 years now. We recently got married in November of 2023 & have loved building a life and community together in the Windy City along with our rescued pitty mix, Otto.
